Counseling the Marriage between Internet Explorer and Flash

In February, 2006 Microsoft Corp released an update to Internet Explorer 6 that forces users of sites with Flash to activate its content. This is an extremely annoying update for web surfers and web designers. What happens is that any web site or interactive media piece that uses flash will have a box appearing around it. Until the user clicks with a mouse on a flash piece, he or she will not be able to interact with it. While there is an easy solution to this, (don’t use Internet Explorer and use other browsers like Firefox, Opera, and Netscape) this is not the ideal measure because there are still many people who use IE as their main browser.
